Off to see the Wizard

Some of you remember the Wizard from Glass Notes in the earl 90’s. Wow , I thought that crusty old goat was dust. I never learned as much as when I went to see the Wiz. I ran into the old codger last week & he is as bizarre as ever. Jumped my act for not staying in touch. I told him I went to see him & they told me he split & didn’t leave a forwarding address. Well, grab onto this, the Wiz laid the whole story on me over blueberry smoothie at Whole Foods . It seems two cats knocked on his cave door up on the mountain & said “we’re from the government & we are here to help you” . Well we all know that’s a crock of bat guano.  It seems the wiz had been occuping a environmental sanctuary for a special kind of bat down around Austin. they claimed the ole cat was endangering the bats & were going to fine him 5000.00 a day if he didn,t restore the cave to pre-Wiz habitation conditions. And move out as in NOW.  The wiz told them he sold the guano for fertilizer & finance cleaning up the caves. As far restoration was concerned the bats could do that them selves.  To escape the bat lovers & the EPA maniacs as he calls them, he loaded up and bailed out for parts unknown that very day. two hours after the bat lovers left The Wiz was history.  He really got torqued when I told him they had bull dozed the hillside & built condos. Then they made the bat cave itself a posted sanctuary (tourist  site). I told him about the Golden proportion Guide plane & the Zirconia masking we were working on. He gave me his new address (secret ) & told me if I wanted to get to work & present the material right he would help me out.  dealing with the Wiz can be a real trip & you got to listen up or he will burn your ears off for being a “sorry a$$ “, acting as stupid as a Horned Toad on a freeway at rush hour orn some other thing. I will keep you posted on the”education progress ” . John boy zapped the first post, he must of had a”moment of madness -lololol. I finally have gotten a simple way to use the golden proportion with the white wax ups & building the porcelain. I made a chart I have named the called the Harmonic Smile chart. This chart has all of the facial measurements relative to our teeth . You can quickly select the best Guide Plane plate by having any one of  5 facial measurements . the averaged width of the centrals, or the length (this one usually wouldn’t work because of wear) , the mid-line to cuspid , bicuspid buccal cusp tip, the corner of the smile or the inter ocular measurement  which is the measurement from the inner corner of the eye across the bridge of the nose to the inside corner of the other eye  I have found that the I/O distance is the same as the laterals dital to  distal. the width of the bridge of the nose matches the distal to distal of the centrals .  The pupillary distance equals the width of the smile if the patient is Golden proportion or near golden proportion.  you can check these things on  a photo graph by drawing vertical lines . If you want to know where the patient smile ends , multiple the mid-line to cuspid by .618  add these two numbers together  and you have the width of the smile. neat huh !  MORE LATER.
